April 11, 2012

On October 27, 2011, Shantui officially opened its Nairobi, Kenya dealership and office. The event was marked with an Open Day for visitors to inspect products, and ended with official ceremonies attended by Kenya’s Prime Minister, The Honorable Raila Odinga.   Mr. Odinga noted in his remarks that Kenya is ripe for the kind of equipment Shantui sells, and he urged Shantui to consider a manufacturing presence in Kenya as well, to take advantage of the nation’s able workforce and geographic location at Africa’s mid-point. The office in Kenya is headed by Mr. Edward Kinyany, who reassured everyone that his distributorship has the capacity to meet the rising demand across the East African region. The Kenya office is located very near to the Nairobi Airport on the outskirts of the city. It is responsible for providing sales, service and distribution support to East Africa markets. It is organized under the regional management of the Shantui Southern Africa subsidiary located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
