Bauma Africa will be held from September 15 to 18, 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The exhibition is sponsored by Munich International Expo Group to meet Africa's robust demand for technology and trade in areas such as construction machinery. Chinese construction machinery leader XCMG will attend the event with a lineup of stellar products.
Despite the industry downturn, XCMG, as an industry-leading construction machinery producer in China, has achieved encouraging results in the African market. According to customs statistics, XCMG exported over US$200 million worth of products to Africa in 2013. The group posted US$170 million in export value in 2014 and nearly US$90 million in the first half of 2015, positioning it as the largest Chinese exporter to the market for consecutive years.

Over the years, XCMG has been focused on exploring global markets extensively. As part of the strategy, it has invested heavily in improving product quality and adaptability, agent development, channel building, and service and spare part support, helping XCMG products sustain the industry's largest share of the African market.
Believing that quality is the lifeline of an enterprise, XCMG consistently pursues world-class quality and never compromises quality. Dedicated to a very high standard of craftsmanship, XCMG has developed a set of state-of-the-art quality standards, and seeks to incorporate its emphasis on methodologies and best practices into every procedure from design, production and management to marketing and service. Over the years, XCMG's increasing R&D input has culminated in an extensive array of equipment applicable to extreme operating conditions such as extremely high and low temperatures, high altitudes, and deserts. Geared to customer needs, it has developed a wide variety of total machinery solutions for mining, forestry, road, concrete, and energy applications.
After years of hard work, XCMG has established a mature marketing network and service parts system in Africa. Currently, the group has 2 branches in Ghana and Guinea, and 25 distribution outlets in Guinea, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and other countries. Its distribution centers in countries and regions such as Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal are expected to start service in late 2015. Through its 20 service spare parts centers in Africa, XCMG is well-positioned to provide prompt and professional aftersales services and a complete range of spare parts services across Africa. Additionally, XCMG has set up six training centers in Africa, to offer a full range of training services for customers.

In addition to developing an optimized network of sales and service outlets, XCMG launched a "One Belt, One Road" service campaign in 2015 as a response to the Chinese government's "One Belt, One Road" initiative. During the campaign, mostly in the 20-plus African countries under the "One Belt, One Road" program, the group has conducted a field inspection of around 10,000 in-warranty products, including lifting, earth-moving, road, mining, concrete and pile-driving machinery, as well as truck-mounted cranes and heavy trucks. The service campaign was designed to carry out standard operating procedures in line with the following principles: offering filters for free; checking product performance and maintenance; teaching the correct methods of operation, maintenance and simple troubleshooting; inquiring customers about their construction projects, purchase needs, and spare parts purchase channels, and suggestions for improvement; and collecting feedback on the campaign and unresolved product problems, and user satisfaction and views. The ultimate aim was to improve XCMG's service standard.
Thanks to its solid product quality and extensive sales network in Africa, XCMG has won a bunch of large orders, including the supply of complete sets of equipment to the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway and complete sets of machinery to Ethiopia, the order for 100m aerial platform fire trucks from Angola, and the supply of complete sets of factory equipment to Nigeria. XCMG products have found their way into numerous well-known construction companies in China and abroad including CSCEC, CRCC, CREC, CCCC, CITIC Construction, CNEC, CJIC, SINOHYDRO, CHICO, WIETC, and China Wu Yi in their infrastructure projects in many African countries. XCMG's direct involvement in these projects epitomizes the symbiosis of Chinese builders and Chinese-made machinery in the global arena, creating a series of landmarks in China-Africa friendship.
