To Solve Pain Points, See Seven Highlights of XCMG Leading Technological Innovation Development of Crane Industry Part 2 High-efficient Site Transfer

May 24, 2016

On December 30, 2014, in Yunnan, China, a “steel giant” stood high on the land, with an altitude of over 3,000m and wind at the speed of 16m/s. Despite the bad weather, it steadily lifted a 91t cabin onto an 81m-high tower. Then the XCA5000 all terrain crane which is known as the “J-15 among aircraft carriers of engineering machinery”, has the largest tonnage globally and adopts the most advanced technology had its debut globally. It proved strong strength of a product made in China with excellent performance and perfect on-site performance.

Thanks to concerted efforts of XCMG staff for years, XCA5000 has opened a new chapter in the history of all terrain cranes. It is a typical representative which the engineering manufacturing industry feels proud of. As to innovations in XCA5000 which integrates the world’s most high-end technologies, the wind turbine installation efficiency is one per 1-1.5 days, so high-efficient self-assembling & self-disassembling technology is the one which must be mentioned.

For hoisting personnel, time is money and efficiency is income. Installation and site transfer efficiency of super-tonnage cranes has always concerned hoisting personnel. If Installation and site transfer efficiency gets a little higher, it may mean that they can work for 1 more machine-shift.

It seems that the high-efficient self-assembling & self-disassembling technology independently developed by XCMG is slowly turning high-efficient site transfer into reality.

High-efficient self-assembling & self-disassembling technology

It takes less than 4 hours to finish assembling of the complete machine. The assembling efficiency is about the same to that of competitor’s 1,200t product. Such high efficiency benefits from jib self-assembling & self-disassembling technology and counterweight self-assembling & self-disassembling technology which have been realized in XCA5000.

As to jib self-assembling & self-disassembling technology, it refers that the jib supports itself on the ground by relying on telescopic oil cylinder, and then the chassis drives in. As to counterweight self-assembling & self-disassembling technology, it refers that after jib assembling, the counterweight can be installed at the specified location by relying on extension and lifting capacity of the jib.

Complete self-assembling & self-disassembling function means high-efficient self-assembling & self-disassembling without using any auxiliary equipment. This is an important subject we are studying. XCA450 has realized the complete self-assembling & self-disassembling function. With such technologies as outrigger self-assembling & self-disassembling, counterweight self-assembling & self-disassembling and superlift self-assembling & self-disassembling, it ensures high efficiency of assembling and helps customers save expenses of auxiliary hoisting equipment.

Will 1,000t-level products also realize complete self-assembling & self-disassembling? This is a tough problem. But XCMG staff dare to face challenges and are good at solving tough problems. Do you expect the complete self-assembling & self-disassembling function very much as the editor does?
