To Solve Pain Points, See Seven Highlights of XCMG Leading Technological Innovation Development of Crane Industry Part 7 High-efficiency Energy Saving

May 27, 2016

The world would lose the possibility of advancement without energy.

Coal, oil and natural gas are the world’s three major fossil energy sources. In 2014, consumption of the three major fossil energy sources accounted for 86.7% of the global primary energy consumption and was 7 times the consumption of clean energy sources. And the three major fossil energy sources are non-renewable energy sources. It is estimated that usage period of detectable oil reserves globally is just 46 years, that of natural gas is 65 years and that of coal is 169 years.

Unsustainability of non-renewable energy sources is an important reason why it is necessary to develop sustainable energy sources globally. Solar energy, waterpower and wind energy have realized rapid development, but their scale still cannot match that of the three major fossil energy sources. Thus, the high-efficiency energy saving concept has been raised to the height of national strategy.

For the engineering machinery industry, gasoline is the main power source. Utilization rate of gasoline combustion of modern engines is less than 50%, so utilization rate is low. To make better use of every gram of fuel, XCMG has launched the industry’s leading high-efficiency energy saving technology. This technology is silently promoting rapid change of energy saving technologies of the engineering machinery industry.

High-efficiency energy saving technology

(1) Global power control technology for power system

Traditional power control system can only offer feedback on crane operation to the motor system, but cannot effectively adjust the engine power.

Global power control technology brings the crane operation-motor-engine linkage system. Based on the crane’s working condition, it automatically controls pump and motor displacement and engine revolution speed to ensure the engine works in the optimal fuel consumption area, which can reduce fuel consumption by 10~15%. It helps customers save fuel cost.

(2) Energy recycling and reuse technology

Gasoline combustion provides power for cranes. During combustion, unnecessary losses will occur. Energy recycling and reuse technology can effectively collect and store potential energy produced during crane braking, winching and luffing, and release potential energy during operation next time, to make crane starting, climbing, luffing and lifting more efficient.

On May 8, 2015, the State Council officially printed and distributed the Made in China 2025. One of basic policies in it- “green development” raises higher requirements for innovation of high-efficiency energy saving technologies. I believe energy saving will still be an important topic even in the era of sustainable energy. Thus, high-efficiency energy saving technologies will not die out but will develop towards more high-end technologies.

The seven highlights of XCMG leading technological innovation development of the crane industry have all been analyzed. As to the seven innovative technologies put forward by XCMG, perhaps some have been realized, some are being developed, and some are just concepts. The road of exploration has just begun and will be endless. But XCMG has an unshakeable determination to support our country to become a powerful manufacturing country.
