The Kenyan Mombasa-Nairobi railway project undertaken by China Road and Bridge Corporation is the first railway built with the Chinese standards. The railway project was started officially at the end of 2014, and will be opened to traffic in 2017, which will show to the world the speed and efficiency of Chinese enterprises in railway construction. Shantui's bulldozer as the main force of the earthmoving construction machinery is lucky to join the railway construction project.
In 2014, China Road and Bridge Corporation and Shantui Beijing Branch signed an agreement on the cooperation project in Kenya, which contained nearly 100 units of bulldozer equipment. To ensure the best after-sales service to the customer, Shantui Import and Export Company's Service Support Department made a fast response according to the customer's demand, by forming Shantui Service Team for Mombasa-Nairobi Project. It sent 6 service engineers with good technical background and rich experience, to the construction site to provide Shantui equipment technical support and after-sales service, whose term of working was two years. In 2016, Shantui's overseas service team won the Bronze Medal as“2016 Excellent After-Sales Service Supplier” awarded by China Road and Bridge Corporation Headquarters.
At the early stage of the project, Shantui's service engineers inspected Shantui's equipment at each section of the railway, and found that the local construction environment was mostly red volcanic ash, and the dust was very serious when the equipment was working. This brought a great hidden safety risk to the air intake system of the engine. After Shantui's service engineers found that problem, it fed back the information timely to the Road and Bridge Project Team, and put forward the relevant suggestions for improvement. The Road and Bridge Project Team adopted the suggestions in time, and added the three-stage air filtration system to all the equipment, which prevented the damage to the engine brought by the bad working condition, and ensured the normal operation of the equipment.
In order to ensure the normal operation of the equipment, Shantui oversea service team went to construction sites every day, examining all the Shantui equipment and offering on-site guidance to the operators. They recorded the consumption and inventory of the spare parts in detail, and gave feed back to the factory in time for supplementing, to ensure that Shantui's equipment could create the greatest value for the customer. In the period of more than two years, they never had any schedule delay because of equipment failures and shortage of spare parts. Their hard work led to the complete success of the Mombasa-Nairobi project, winning a high praise from the project team!
